Star Wars Unlimited Deck Pod vs Double Deck Pod: Which to Buy

The core difference is how many decks you carry

Both the Star Wars Unlimited Deck Pod and Double Deck Pod are officially licensed premium deck boxes designed specifically for Star Wars: Unlimited players. The Deck Pod holds one deck, while the Double Deck Pod holds two. That single difference drives nearly every other trade-off, from table footprint to how you manage leader cards during a match.

The Deck Pod is built around a single 60-card double-sleeved deck, with a Slide Card Case for your leader, a designated pocket for your base card, and a drawer for tokens and accessories. The Double Deck Pod doubles those features: two deck compartments, two Slide Card Cases, two base-card pockets, and two drawers, with decks and bases arranged on opposing sides for two-player games.

If you only ever bring one deck to the table, the Deck Pod is the simpler, lighter choice. If you regularly play with a friend or like to carry a backup deck, the Double Deck Pod saves you from packing two separate boxes.

Capacity and what each box holds

• STAR WARS ™: UNLIMITED DECK POD: Designed to hold up to 60 double-sleeved cards. This is the standard Star Wars Unlimited deck size, so the Deck Pod covers a complete single deck without extra bulk.

• STAR WARS ™: UNLIMITED DOUBLE DECK POD: Designed to hold up to 2 decks of 60 double-sleeved cards. The Double Deck Pod carries two complete decks in one box, which is the key advantage if you share games or bring a second strategy.

Leader card protection and table use

Both boxes include Slide Card Cases with additional UV protection for leader cards, and both let you identify the stored deck without opening the box thanks to an innovative leader card slot. The difference is quantity: one case on the Deck Pod, two on the Double Deck Pod.

• Deck Pod leader handling: Includes one Slide Card Case with UV protection. The case is detachable, and the leader can be used during gameplay while still inside the case. A designated pocket stores the base card, ready for play.
• Double Deck Pod leader handling: Includes two Slide Card Cases with UV protection. Both are detachable and usable during gameplay. Two designated pockets hold two base cards, one for each deck.
• Table footprint: The Double Deck Pod places decks and bases on opposing sides, making it a self-contained two-player solution. The Deck Pod is a single-player box, so each player brings their own.

Token storage and accessory drawers

Token management is often the messiest part of a trading card game setup. The Deck Pod includes one extra drawer for tokens and accessories. The Double Deck Pod includes two extra drawers, one for each side, so two players can keep their counters separate without mixing them.

Both boxes use the CONVERTIBLE system: the removable cover clips to the bottom of the box, giving you a stable tray during play. Strong magnets keep the closure secure when it is time to pack up. If you play with a lot of tokens, the second drawer on the Double Deck Pod is a practical advantage, but it also means a larger box to carry.

Materials and sleeve compatibility

• STAR WARS ™: UNLIMITED DECK POD: Hexafyber surface with soft microfiber inner lining; sleeves from other brands may affect capacity or compatibility. The premium lining protects cards, but the capacity claim is optimized for Gamegenic sleeves, so check your sleeve brand before relying on the 60-card figure.
• STAR WARS ™: UNLIMITED DOUBLE DECK POD: Hexafyber surface with soft microfiber inner lining; optimized for Gamegenic Sleeves. The same material and sleeve note applies to the Double Deck Pod, so the two-deck capacity is also sleeve-dependent.

Which box fits your play style

• Choose the Deck Pod if: You play one deck at a time, want a compact box, and do not need to carry a second deck or a second set of tokens. It covers the essentials: one deck, one leader case, one base pocket, and one token drawer.
• Choose the Double Deck Pod if: You regularly play two-player games, bring a backup deck, or want to keep two complete decks and their tokens in one place. The opposing-side layout and two drawers make it a true two-player solution.
• Check your sleeves first: Both boxes are optimized for Gamegenic sleeves, and the catalog notes that sleeves from other brands may affect capacity or compatibility. If you use a different brand, test your deck in the box before committing.

What the catalog does not tell you

The supplied records list exterior dimensions for both boxes: the Deck Pod is 100 x 117 x 109 mm, and the Double Deck Pod is 188 x 117 x 109 mm. The Double Deck Pod is wider, as expected for two decks. Neither record includes a weight, so if portability by weight matters to you, that detail is not confirmed by the available information.

The records also do not specify whether the Slide Card Cases fit double-sleeved leader cards, or whether the token drawers are removable. These are reasonable questions, but the supplied evidence does not answer them, so treat them as unknowns rather than assuming either way.
